Privacy policy

This policy explains what the FreshSpot app stores, where it stores it, and what leaves your iPhone. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean the maker of FreshSpot.

Your records

Your records are the medications, doses, sites, times and notes you enter. They stay in on-device storage on your iPhone and in your own device backups. FreshSpot does not send them to us or to anyone else.

No account, and anonymous usage events

FreshSpot has no account and no sign-in. To see where people leave the app, it sends anonymous usage events to PostHog, hosted in the EU (Frankfurt). The events say that a screen appeared or a step happened: the app opened, an onboarding screen appeared, the trial started or ended, a subscription screen appeared or was closed, a purchase started, finished, was cancelled or failed, or a tab was opened. They carry a random install identifier that resets if you delete and reinstall the app. There are no person profiles, your IP address is not stored, and no location is looked up. The events never contain a medication, dose, site, time or note, and nothing you type.

You can turn this off in Settings, under Privacy, with “Share anonymous usage”. It is on by default.

Payments

Apple processes all payments for the subscription. We do not receive your card or payment details.

To check whether you have a subscription, FreshSpot uses Adapty, a subscription service. Adapty receives purchase and app identifiers, with an anonymous profile and a device identifier for this app’s vendor, so it can validate the subscription. The app turns off Adapty’s advertising-identifier and IP-address collection, and Adapty receives nothing about your medications, sites, doses or notes.

Messages to us

The app has a chat, “Message Abe” or “Chat with Abe”, for questions and feedback. It runs on Crisp, a customer-support service. Nothing is sent to Crisp until you open the chat. When you do, Crisp receives what you send: your messages, and any email address, phone number, photo or voice message you choose to include, with an identifier for the conversation. We use them only to answer you. Your records are never attached.

iCloud key-value storage

FreshSpot keeps two values in your iCloud key-value storage, so that reinstalling the app does not restart the trial:

• the time your first log was saved
• a random identifier for the medication you keep free after the trial

Nothing else is stored there. These values sync through your Apple Account.

The medication list

To keep medication names current without an app update, FreshSpot downloads one list of names from freshspot.app, at most once a day. The request carries no account, identifier or information about you, and the list is the same for everyone. It is checked against FreshSpot’s signature before it is used. Like any website, our host briefly records the requesting IP address in its server logs.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone. They are private by default: your lock screen shows a reminder, never a medication name. You can change this in the app's Settings, under Privacy.

Face ID

App lock is optional. When it is on, Face ID runs on your iPhone. FreshSpot never sees your biometric data.

CSV export

A CSV file is created only when you ask for one, and it goes only where you send it.

Cards and visit pages

Cards and PDFs are made on your iPhone. They leave your phone only when you send them, through the share sheet or Save to Photos, to whoever or wherever you choose.

Save to Photos asks for permission to add images to your library. FreshSpot never reads your library.

Notes and questions for a visit stay on your iPhone. They appear only in a PDF that you share.

FreshSpot keeps your last card choices on your iPhone and keeps no record that you shared anything.

A shared image carries no location or device information.

Deleting your records

Delete everything, in the app's Settings, erases the records on your iPhone. Deleting the app also removes them. A device backup made before then keeps what it contained until you delete or replace that backup. The two iCloud values above stay, so that a reinstall does not restart the trial.

The launch list on this website

This section is about freshspot.app, not the app. If you join the launch list, we collect the email address you enter and which form you used. We use it only to confirm your sign-up and to send you news about FreshSpot’s release.

The list is stored by Loops, our email service, which sends the emails for us. We don’t sell your address or share it with anyone else, and it is never connected to anything you record in the app.

Every email has an unsubscribe link. To have your address deleted, email support@freshspot.app.

The creator program

This section covers people who apply to be a FreshSpot creator on this website. It does not cover people who use the app. The app does not ask for any of this information.

When you apply, we collect your name, your email address, your channel names, handles and links, and any note you add. We use them to review your application and give you a code. If you are approved, we also keep records of your commissions and payouts. We use them to show you a dashboard of counts and to pay your commissions.

If you are approved and give a public display name, we may show it on your public invite page. We never use the name from your application for that. If we decline your application, we delete a display name you proposed together with your name, 90 days after we decline it.

We email you a sign-in link through Loops, the email service we also use for the launch list. The dashboard shows counts only: how many people used your code, how many subscribed, and what is pending or has been paid. It does not show who those people are. When you sign in, the dashboard sets one cookie on freshspot.app that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days; we store only scrambled (hashed) copies of the sign-in link and the sign-in session, never the link itself.

We pay creators through Tremendous, a payout service. Tremendous collects the tax forms it needs, such as a W-9, and receives the payment details it needs to send your payout. Tremendous's own privacy notice covers how it handles that information.

We keep creator records while the creator agreement is in effect. We keep tax records for 7 years after it ends. If we decline your application, we delete your name and any note you added 90 days after we decline it. We keep a scrambled copy of your email address, your channel handles, the dates and the reason category for 2 years so we can recognize repeat applications, then delete them. To ask us to delete your creator records, email support@freshspot.app.

Children

FreshSpot is for adults, 18 and over. It is not directed to anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
